A Saint-Romain Village true to the freshness and minerality of its appellation
The estate
The Domaine Fabien Coche, located in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy, is now run by Fabien Coche, winemaker of the family of the same name. The estate strives to combine a precise, elegant style with viticulture that respects its environment. It is particularly known for its carefully managed ageing on the lees and a considered use of oak, in keeping with Burgundian tradition and with particular attention to today's climate challenges.
The vineyard
The Saint-Romain appellation lies at altitude, on limestone soils that give it a distinctive freshness and tension, in contrast to the lower-lying terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. This elevated location allows Chardonnay to retain pronounced natural acidity, essential to crafting a lively, mineral wine, perfectly in line with the estate's philosophy.
Winemaking and ageing
This Saint-Romain Village 2024 is crafted using a minimal-intervention approach, consistent with the estate's general practices, with hand-harvested grapes and carefully managed ageing on the lees to best preserve the purity and texture of the wine.
Grape variety
This wine is made from Chardonnay.
