Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Meursault Village "Clos du Pré de Manche" 2024 from Domaine Fabien Coche
Tasting
Colour
This village Meursault shows a golden colour with luminous highlights, typical of the great Chardonnays of the Côte de Beaune that are raised with care.
Nose
The nose reveals a refined aromatic palette, blending yellow stone fruits such as peach and apricot with refreshing citrus notes. A few spicy touches complete the picture, carried by a pronounced minerality reminiscent of the limestone soils of the appellation.
Palate
On the palate, this wine charms with its great purity of fruit, supported by a vibrant acidity that gives it tension and balance. The long finish closes on crisp mineral sensations evoking stone or chalk, the signature of terroir-driven Meursault.
Food and Wine Pairings
This Meursault Village "Clos du Pré de Manche" will pair ideally with shellfish and crustaceans, fine fish and white meats, particularly in a light cream or mushroom sauce, in the tradition of the great Burgundian pairings.
Serving and Cellaring
The Meursault Village "Clos du Pré de Manche" 2024 is best enjoyed chilled, between 12 and 14°C, to reveal the full finesse of its aromatic bouquet.
A Meursault Village from Domaine Fabien Coche, a Precise Expression of a Lieu-dit in the Côte de Beaune
The Estate
The Domaine Fabien Coche, founded in 1940 in Meursault under the name Coche-Bizouard, now extends over 12 hectares spread across Meursault and several villages of the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. Led by Fabien Coche and his wife Magali, who have overseen its modernisation since the late 1990s, the estate is certified organic. Discreet in its communication, it favours a rigorous technical approach, combining precision with respect for the terroir.
The Vineyard
The "Clos du Pré de Manche" cuvée comes from a village-level lieu-dit in the Meursault appellation, planted on limestone soils characteristic of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyard is farmed according to organic principles, without chemical inputs, with strict control of yields and hand-harvesting to preserve the integrity of the grapes.
Vinification and Ageing
For the production of the Meursault Village "Clos du Pré de Manche" 2024, the grapes are gently pressed and then vinified with a light touch, without recourse to intensive extraction techniques such as bâtonnage. Ageing takes place in large wooden vessels, with very restrained use of new oak, in order to preserve the freshness and minerality of the wine. The estate has also chosen to equip its entire range with Diam "Origine" technical corks, ensuring consistency in the ageing of the bottles.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from Chardonnay, the emblematic grape variety of the great white wines of the Côte de Beaune.
