Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2024 Domaine Remoriquet
Tasting
Nose
The nose of this wine opens with aromas of fresh red fruit, cherry and raspberry, enhanced by notes of dark fruit such as blackcurrant. Spicy and slightly empyreumatic touches complete this aromatic palette, typical of Pinot Noir produced on the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits plateau.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is slender, precise and pure, carried by a fresh structure that gives it length and balance. The texture, never heavy, reveals fine mineral depth and a generous heart of fruit, complemented by spicy nuances on the finish.
Food and Wine Pairing
This wine pairs harmoniously with roasted or grilled white meats, such as free-range chicken or guinea fowl, as well as fine charcuterie and terrines of light game. It also goes very well with mushroom-based dishes, such as pan-fried chanterelles or a risotto, and finds a lovely echo in soft-rind cheeses such as Brie or Camembert.
Serving and Cellaring
This Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2024 from Domaine Remoriquet is best enjoyed at a temperature between 14 and 16°C, preserving its aromatic freshness without letting the alcohol dominate. It can be enjoyed upon opening to make the most of its vibrant fruit, or cellared for a few years to allow its complexity to evolve.
A Fresh and Elegant Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Crafted by Domaine Remoriquet
The Estate
Domaine Remoriquet is based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. Rooted in a winemaking family established over several generations, the estate is now run by Patricia Guenot, a winegrower and oenology technician who worked for more than thirty years alongside Gilles Remoriquet. Renowned for its commitment to the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits appellation, the estate combines traditional know-how with sustainable viticulture, certified HVE and Terra Vitis.
The Vineyard
This wine comes from vines located on the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits plateau, close to Nuits-Saint-Georges. Planted at a higher altitude than the classic slopes of the Côte de Nuits, this Burgundy vineyard benefits from clay-limestone soils and a natural freshness conducive to the balance of Pinot Noir. The vines are managed according to a sustainable approach, with controlled yields and hand-harvesting.
The Vintage
The 2024 vintage in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits was marked by heavy rainfall and a lack of sunshine, leading to strong pressure from fungal diseases, notably downy mildew. These conditions made work in the vineyard more challenging and may have reduced harvest volumes. However, an improvement in conditions at the end of the season allowed the grapes to reach satisfactory ripeness, promising balanced wines.
Winemaking and Ageing
The winemaking of this Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2024 relies on the hand-harvesting and rigorous sorting practised at the estate, ensuring that only healthy grapes are retained despite the disease pressure of the vintage. The estate favours gentle extraction, long macerations and slow fermentations, followed by ageing in barrel, revealing the finesse of Pinot Noir without hardening its structure.
Grape Variety
This wine is made from Pinot Noir, the king of grape varieties in the Côte de Nuits, which expresses all its freshness and aromatic purity on this plateau terroir.
