Description
The Finesse and Generosity of a Haut-Médoc Grand Vin
A Classified Growth of 1855, Château La Tour Carnet is one of the most emblematic properties of the Haut-Médoc appellation on the Left Bank of the Bordeaux region. The property was taken over by Bernard Magrez in 2000, and has since then undergone a renaissance, expressed today in the excellent quality of its wines.
Château La Tour Carnet oversees an exceptional vineyard of 119 hectares, planted with vines that are 32 years old on average, in a great diversity of soils. The clay-rich subsoil contains a large proportion of limestone, covered with a thick layer of gravel dating back to the Günzian ice age. The richness of this terroir, combined with the team’s perpetual quest for perfection, make the new Château La Tour Carnet red 2017 an exceptional wine from the Haut-Médoc.
From the vineyard to the winery, the Château La Tour Carnet 2017 has received constant attention from consultant winemaker Michel Rolland. With a blend dominated by Merlot (60%) and complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon (37%) and Cabernet Franc (3%), the Château La Tour Carnet 2017 displays the typical characteristics of this vintage, while also maintaining the estate’s identity and signature style. Powerful and concentrated, this wine will seduce Bordeaux-lovers seeking a wine with personality, displaying a solid structure and generous amounts of fruit.
