An exceptional rich and well-structured Sauternes wine

The property

Founded in the 18th century, Château La Tour Blanche is a vineyard located in Bommes in the Sauternes appellation. Classified as a 1st Grand Cru in 1855, the estate is a public property managed by the Regional Council of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, also housing a viticulture school.

The vineyard

The vines of Château La Tour Blanche flourish on the privileged terroirs of Sauternes, characterized by sandy-clay gravel soils. This unique geographical location, with the proximity of the Ciron and the Garonne, promotes the development of Botrytis cinerea, this noble fungus that concentrates the sugars and aromas in the berries. The vines are cultivated with respect for the environment, according to the principles of organic farming.

Vinification and aging

The harvest took place from September 20 to October 4, in three successive passages (tries) to select only perfectly botrytised grapes. After gentle pressing, the must fermented slowly before being aged in new barrels, giving the wine its structure and aromatic complexity.

Blend

Sémillon (55%), Muscadelle (35%) and Sauvignon (10%).
